Trade bodies’ role in shipping decarbonization comes under spotlight after Maersk quits ICS board
Shipping is a fragmented industry with various types of vessel owners, whose approaches to decarbonization can often differ.
Mr. Lin is based in the IHS Markit London office, covering energy transition, clean technology, ESG investing, climate risk, and decarbonization policy developments in Asian and other countries for Net-Zero Business Daily and Connect Platform.
He has been writing and editing news stories from Asia and Europe for more than a decade, focusing on topics related to energy and shipping. Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, Mr. Lin was once named Seahorse Journalist of the Year and shortlisted for Royal Statistical Society's Statistical Excellence in Journalism Awards for his works.
Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Lin covered oil shipping, bunker fuel, energy transition and other shipping-related matters for TradeWinds. He led the editorial team for commodities shipping markets of Lloyd's List before that. Mr. Lin was an energy reporter for Dow Jones and Thomson Reuters before covering maritime transport.
He holds a Master of Art with Distinction in international journalism from the University of Westminster.
